Just recently, Julian met Spike smack in the center of the
backstage of Hollywood Bowl. Spike was performing with the
Spinners and the whole group came back to Capitol Studios after
the concert where Julian and Spike recorded until 5 in the
morning, bonding a musical relationship that is turning into a
new album: Julian and Spike "Over the Top."

In the true spirit of love, an impromptu recording with visitors from Beijing, who happened to be there in the moment joining in the creation of "Our Love," captured live at Capitol Studios, Hollywood. The idea, though in its infancy, organically manifested itself when a phone call came into the studio asking if a group of people could see it during their tour. Though Julian was recording the song already, he agreed, and to his surprise he waved in what became a busload of folks from halfway around the world. His new friends from China learned the melody as they were walking into the session and all gathered in a half circle around him. Microphones were set to co-producer Bob Johnston's touch, including two 15-foot high overhead room mics which were in place picking up our new friends while they were singing. Though they never heard the tune before they naturally joined in in harmony. In an instant, the physical birth of OUR LOVE was complete. Now all it has to do is grow!
About Julian
The artist behind the idea of OUR LOVE is Julian, a singer / songwriter whose collaborations and performances appear on Warner Brothers records and TV, Gold Castle Records, Eternity Records, etc. Currently, he is working on the OUR LOVE project at Capitol Studios, Hollywood and wrapping up his album with record producer Bob Johnston. This CD includes live tracks to sold out crowds in beautiful concert halls on Martha's Vineyard, Cape Cod and New England. It also includes songs recorded at Air Studios, London.
You can find Julian's name alongside a body of works with the likes of such legendary artists as Peter, Paul and Mary, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, and others. He has shared musical evenings, either opening up for or creating and jamming, with the likes of Richie Havens, Hugh Taylor, James Taylor (at Dogfish Bar & Grill), members of the Grateful Dead (New Gorjes), Liv Taylor, Alex Taylor, Sally Taylor, Ben Taylor, Carly Simon (The Whaling Church), Jonathan Edwards, Marty Balin of Jefferson Starship, John Cipollina of Quick Silver Messenger Service, Michael Kamen, Jojo, The Wailers, Ramblin' Jack Elliott and one of his favorite moments, a live impromptu performance of John Lennon's "Imagine," early Sunday morning, the third day of WoodStock 2.
He is lovingly referred to as the most "famous unfamous person you will ever meet." His musical abilities include harmonica, piano and anything with strings, especially the guitar, creating contributions and endorsements from the Fender Guild and Martin Guitar corporations. He has also received complimentary harmonicas from Hohner Harmonica for his classic rock blues harp performances. The Boston Globe has called him the "idealistic tunesmith" as he has written a song for Special Olympics "Special People" in which all proceeds benefitted Special Olympics and he is currently working on the song "Best Buddies" for the Best Buddies Charity. He is also a founder of the Eternity Foundation and its subsidiaries including Records, Concert Series and Guitar Series.
